So SM is promoting their trainees

and man i know they start young but some of these kids are like 9?? 10??

which means they must have started when they wre like... 5 or something, since i'm sure they've been training for a long time

and it's even weirder bc some of them are older.. like 19 or whatever and suddenly they just seem SO OLD in comparison

but i feel kinda bad for these kids

like... are they going to know anything other than.. life as a trainee rookie?sinnger? what if they fail, then they have no future.. it kinda sucks

I feel old v_v

kpop idols are getting younger as i grow older lols

I don't think all of the rookies are going to debut soon(bc there's a law in korea that requires idols to be certain ages now); I think SM is just trying something new? But I feel lik the company should focus more on the groups that are already out now (SHINee is still on their first fanclub; does f(x) and exo even have official fannames/colors?? idk)  @_@

Hmm...

They are young but they aren't promoting or even debuting yet. SM Rookies is just SM's way of marketing these trainees before debut. Chances are they won't debut until much later or some may not even debut. I'm guessing the next group SM plans to debut is a female group and they probably won't be debuting until next year or so. GOT7 has some young members too. (1997 line)

Seventeen members are young too.... Not to mention GP Basic, who debuted some years back with a leader that was only 16 and a maknae in like 4th grade :/

I also want to add, where the heck is Jino?! (SM the Ballad)

When will he get to offically debut?

...

It's true that the rookies that SM are promoting are really young. At 9 or 10 years old, I was not even able to dance or sing well... I still don't but... When will they be able to debut? We have no idea. How many years are still left before they debut? We just don't know. There are some of the trainees who are 18 and I think that it's okay. But 9 or 10 years old ?! Isn't that a little bit too... much? I mean... During the trainees period, they will have to go through a lot of hardship. Maybe when they are still young, their dreams might be to become an idol. But what will happen if years later, some of them change their mind and decided to give up because they have a completely different dream now? They are younger than me and oh god... I don't even know myself what i want to become later when I will be older.  But, if they train for a longer time then it would be easier for them. I watched WIN WHO IS NEXT (YG's program) and some boys were talking about other trainees that gave up. I don't want them to give up their dreams because the training is hard. Anyways... i have no more things to say.. PLEASE DON'T HATE! ;D

Have a nice day! (:

SM is promoting their trainees but some of them joined SM not too long ago (i believe Mark joined not too long ago) and i guess SMRookies is just like a pre-debut team to promote them early age before debut. These kids are still training, they just enter SM as an official trainee at different times, the 19 y.o's may have been training for a longer period of time already. and i'm pretty sure they still go to school till their... 19/18 (i dont remember) so like they will know something other than life as a trainee/rookie. SM wouldn't reveal their trainee's if they knew they were going to fail xD Thats the whole point, if SM reveals them to the public then they'll get to see the audience's response.

well. . .

they probably still have a long way to go before they even debut. the reason they are young is because it is easier to train someone when they are younger. its like learning something like piano, someone who starts young will be amazing at it whent hey grow older. they can pick it up quicker, and will be able to imporove more.

...

well they did say that not all the ones pictured are going to make their debeut soon.  so I would guess the younger ones will be waiting.  but Minzy and others made their debut at a young age after years of trainging... so heck if they got the good, then good for them.

!!

I don't know waht rookies mean to you??

they are living a normal life and have to practice : singing and dancing when they have free time it's like when you go to a conservatory, then if in the future they want to give up on being in the music industry they can do that,  they have the choice to debut or not it's not like prison or something like that.
